Sabotage on Esoteric Festival by deleting their Facebook page

A local Victorian festival is currently attempting to track down the person who “maliciously” deleted their entire Facebook event page last night.

Esoteric Festival organizers released a statement via their main Facebook yesterday, alleging that someone had gained access to — and subsequently deleted — their 2018 event page.

At approximately 7pm tonight Esoteric Festival was maliciously attacked, in turn having our official Esoteric Festival 2018 event deleted, for good,” organizers wrote.

“This comes as a crushing blow to our little second year community based festival. We have prided ourselves on the cornerstones of ethics, friendliness, involvement and all round joyful entertainment for everyone who came across our cause.”

Organisers confirmed the event would proceed completely as planned over the upcoming March long weekend, as well as pledging to find out who was behind the incident: “We will find out who did this and endeavour to understand just why they would want to ruin the hopes and dreams of many.”

The festival has now created a new event page.

Esoteric is set to take place from March 9 to 12 in Donald, Victoria, with artists such as Interactive Noise, Ranji, and Broken Toy scheduled to perform. Final release tickets are on sale now.
