Pete Tong special tour to Australia in 2017

Legendary DJ and dance tastemaker Pete Tong will head to Australia for two huge shows in November, armed with a 65-piece orchestra.

The BBC Radio 1 host will be bringing his Classic House record to the stage, which reimagines dance anthems from the likes Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Eric Prydz and Robert Miles into sprawling orchestral compositions. They tackle everything from ‘Right Here, Right Now’ to ‘Insomnia’ to ‘Children’ to Rudimental’s 2013 cut ‘Feel The Love’.

The concept first came to fruition in 2015, when Tong and the orchestra performed at BBC Radio 1’s Ibiza Prom at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Clearly they were on to a good thing, as they just recently sold out a huge run of shows in the UK and dropped the accompanying disc.

He’ll only play two shows — one in Sydney and one in Melbourne — so you’ll have to be quick if you want to see Moby’s ‘Go’ reworked as an orchestral banger. General tickets are on sale June 30.
