The last time Nina Kraviz stepped up for an Essential Mix, it was way back in 2012.
The Russian export had just released her self-titled debut album on Rekids, her single ‘Ghetto Kraviz’ was still burning dancefloors, and she was beginning her ascent as one of the most compelling house and techno talents around.
Five years later, Kraviz is one of the world’s most in-demand DJs and the head of her own label, Trip — which makes her return to the Essential Mix very big news indeed.
Over the weekend, Nina Kraviz handed Pete Tong another two hours of must-listen music. By her own description, this Essential Mix is full of “fast and noisy” electronic music — featured in the mix are unreleased tunes from artists like Nina’s Trip signee Bjarki, and old gems from producers she “loves and follows”.
PTU, Volruptus, Deniro, Vladimir Dubyshkin, Roma Zuckerman and Steve O’Sullivan have also contributed unreleased cuts, while the likes of Blawan dot the tracklist.
