The Ultra Music Festival is traditionally seen as the official closing grand finale to the week-long Miami Winter Music Conference. In principle, it seems like a great idea, all the world's best DJs are already around, as are a huge clubbing public, but aren't they fed up of clubbing after a jam-packed schedule preceding the festival? Well, no actually, and UMF is the ultimate mini-Miami experience taking place over two days, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of March.

12 separate arenas/stages in Bicentennial Park (downtown Miami) play host to a mammoth selection of guests, encompassing a generally international and mainstream roster with live acts a plenty. Friday has Tiesto and David Guetta as headliners, and they don't come much bigger or brasher than that as far as dance music goes, whilst Groove Armada and The Crystal Method are the main Live acts performing.

After that, take your pick, with Carl Cox hosting his arena that has Green Velvet and Luciano, Eric Prydz headlines the UMF Ibiza Arena with Kaskade, Felix da Housecat and Laidback Luke and elsewhere, the Plump DJs, Stanton Warriors and Fake Blood represent the breaks and the bumps.

On Saturday, which appears a much interesting prospect, the DJ headliners read like a who's who of the main international jocks with Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Carl Cox, Sasha & Digweed, Erick Morillo, Above & Beyond and Paul Oakenfold. Live acts this time come in the form of Orbital and Faithless, as well as Damian Marley & Nas (sounds cool!) and DJ sets only from Calvin Harris, Pendulum and Groove Armada. Diversifying matters a little will be Boys Noize and Erol Alkan, LTJ Bukem, Skream, Benga, Freq Nasty, Diplo and fantastically, Afrika Bambatta.

On both days, a hundred other DJs, live acts, MCs and ringers occupy the 12 arena festival site, to ensure the 70,000+ punters are bombarded with every conceivable type of electronic music whichever way they turn. The events are daytime only, finishing at midnight on both days. An essential part of Miami WMC experience, not to be missed.
