Paro Dion - Something New EP

New EP for Insomniafm Records comes with Paro Dion's progressive EP called "Something New", more like a finely-crafted mind blowing minus the fillers sweet delicate models of space and texture, like ice sculptures rendered in sound.

It kicks off with "Something New," a snappy, percussive progressive track with glistening pads that have been flipped backwards. "Tenderness" is just plain beautiful, reverberating with deep analogue funk stabs, breathy angelic sighs, primeval grunts and a welcome return to those lesser-spotted congas that once populated every house tune. Epic, shape-shifting occupying the crease across skeletal female vocal before three-quarters of the way through it morphs into a growling. On the deeply moving closer and title track, the EP billowing riffs and slamming percussion for an effect that's more melancholy than aggrandizing,  is like opioid progressive house, more of a glide than a chug.
