Chicago club The Mid announced will be closed in February

Chicago is losing one of its staple nightlife locations. The MID has announced that it will be closing in February 2019 as a result of expansion in the West Loop and Fulton Market District.

Co-founders/Co-owners Lucas King and Nick Karounos opened the club in 2010 and it has hosted the likes of Skrillex, Adam Beyer, Calvin Harris, Ice Cube, Green Velvet, Kaskade, Deep Dish and many others. It became a staple of the dance music nightlife scene in Chicago.

In the announcement revealing the club’s closure, Lucas King and Nick Karounos, The Mid’s co-founders said, “Unfortunately, the time has come where The Mid’s doors will be closing on February 5th 2019.

These last remaining months will be a celebration of the past and a toast to the future. We want to thank all the fans, artists, employees, agents, managers, and promoters who have supported us throughout this era. As a token of our appreciation, we are putting together some very special events leading up to that “One Last Song.” It’s been an incredible run to say the least but now it’s time to turn the page as we raise our glasses to what will be the end of an era, and the beginning of our next chapter.
