Biography

Hawker is Andrew Hawks, a DJ from Denver, CO, USA.

When listening to quality dance music if you find yourself asking, "this mix is over already?" You've likely lost yourself in Hawker's blend of deep, lush, ethnic atmospheres - a sound reminiscent of Kintar, Michael & Levan, or Moshic that draws influence from the sophistication of Hernan Cattaneo, the rich textures of Sasha and the emotion of Deep Dish, with strong echoes of the Global Underground series.

That signature sound combined with a drive for technical perfection and creative "storytelling" via harmonic arrangement ensures each Hawker session is a signature flight through floor-filling and introspective progressive spaces in a future primitive galaxy that knows no time.

Hawker guest mixes have appeared regularly on Proton Radio, Frisky Radio, DI, ensonic, Insomniafm, Dirty Mind Music, and Dbsradio among others. Andrew has been involved in dance culture's use of technology since 1990. In 2003 he was one of the initial 3 developers on Beatport. In 1995 he pioneered global video streaming of parties over the Internet.

In the early-mid 90's he operated popular global and local rave email lists that helped define the culture, and promoted the Denver scene writing for magazines like Urb.
