Biography
Kris Brown (aka Castaño) is a DJ & Producer hailing from south west UK. Kris' tracks have quickly become synonymous with the deeper side of house & progressive, especially in recent tracks, although he's never been fully pigeonholed. Testimony to this would be the support he's received from big artists, including Nick Warren, Jaytech & Markus Schulz, after respective releases on Polytechnic, LuPS & Segment Records.
Under his primary name, Kris Brown has produced a lot of tracks, taking the route of small time bedroom producer just like every other aspiring artist out there. He regularly holds a firm spot in the "Podomatic Progressive Chart" top 20 podcasts, with his show 'Intercity Sessions', building him a firm fan base. Intercity Sessions is now exclusive to Insomniafm, featuring local and international DJ's every month.
During the summer of 2012 Kris broke away from his main name to work under his alter ego, Castaño. Castaño is Kris's focus on the deeper underground sounds. Darker, more involved textures are the order of the day here. Influences include Maetrik, Pig & Dan, Luca Morris and Stelios Vassiloudis. Kris Brown produces primarily with Stripped Digital, Segment Records and Lynx Recordings.
