Biography

Born in France in 1976, DJ'ing since 1994, living in Amsterdam since January 1999. In 2003 Benjamin started his first monthly residence joining forces to "Salvation” & “White Party” in Amsterdam". In 2004 he decided to leave behind his software engineer carrier and only concentrate on his music production, gigs and international dj bookings. Its after a course at SAE on music production and sound engineering that Benjamin started to make and produce music working in studio with other artist in Holland and in France

“I always wanted to release music of my own, new tracks and remix, it was clear to me that dj’ing will not be enough but that I will need time to learn how to make electronic music!”

It’s with the label Episode Records that we saw the first release from Dj Benjamin with the remix and dub version of “Runnin” with AJC and EPM production bringing his first worldwide release out. The pathway to electronic music was already set !

Since 2009 Dj Benjamin brings Episode Records music label to its new heights! Episode Records is building on a community of talented producers, artists, composers that have one thing in common: their passion for dance music.

Not only are his music productions of a high standard, but his live deejay set also seem to have an immense impact on the crowd! Bookings followed only a short while after the start of his rich musical career. Touring with some of the finest event producers and organizations in the world.

This very talented dj is performing in the main European nightclubs and very fast became one of Amsterdam’s most wanted dj!

Benjamin worked on the success of many new parties and clubs in the Netherlands, Club Rapido at Paradiso and Fresh at Sugar Factory where he performed in 2006, Benjamin set and selections create a unique vibes pushing him to work with other musician and composer. We saw benjamin performing with a live percussionist playing some deep tribal house music, with singer Miss Bunty and saxo player Erwin Benjamin to quote a few. Resident dj at Sugar Factory for Malenka’s production FanClub & Putumayo cafee shows benjamin interest and music diversity. In 2007 he was representing “Putumayo world music” at ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) and IFFR (International Film Festival Rotterdam). After playing for Dance For Unicef, charity event, he signed a contract with Cosolo booking agency and became one of the exclusive deejay for the biggest corporate events in the Netherlands. Touring in all club, venue and festival in Holland.

Europe and the rest of the world:

During the same years and untill now Benjamin worked on the development of the official White Party concept in Europe for Riedijk Productions, played for the gaypride in paris at Queen club (Champ Elysee) and Redlight Club, Rome (Mucassassina), Gran Canaria Island at Heaven, Antwerp pride open air event, Amsterdam at club Powerzone and melkweg .

Dj Benjamin is working throught the years to bring the best sound and dj combination to the White Party concept worldwide. He became one of the main White Party Dj touring in Europe in the biggest gay venue. Its at Club Med with Alternative holidays in Bodrum Turkey,  Val Thorens in France and in Italy that he was chosen to become one of the official deejay for a all inclusive holiday week and massive entertainment.  His more up-tempo and dark progressive sounds and skills help Benjamin to become resident dj for the Playground party, Get ruff and main leatherpride event in Amsterdam in 2007, 2008, 2009. In 2010 he was asked to make the music for the official trailer to promote the pride weekend internationally. It also followed with more bookings in the fetish scene, such as xxxleather, club trash events and Black Party as official partners of the GayGames 2010 in Cologne Germany and the Eurogames in Rotterdam at Gay Palace in 2011. Playing for the pornstars from BelAmi ™ for the Dvd release “cocky friends” at club Exit and at Red&blue in Antwerp

“I released a track for the DVD release that was presented together with an EP (I AM). I wanted to work on a gay athem and was offer to remix and produce a new band, the lyrics are just perfect I am so happy with this release I think that I will do some rework and release more version throughout the years since I own the copyright for the track”

Dj resident today for more underground event such as Hunkut at Club Steelgate for a monthly residence, Club dirty boys for leatherpride Amsterdam 2011 where he perform a 8 hours set

“I am now more selective in the event I am playing at, I want to see the music industry developing as of the events I am playing at but on that same time I wish to be part of new event and clubs that just start! ”

Dj Benjamin goes to Ibiza every summer too and for now a few years, where we saw Benjamin at scandal, first in Penelope in 2005 and at El Divino. Its now at Club Somni where he last played. Benjamin brings his own touch to this "clubbing" phenomena and always enjoys playing for a very large crowd in what he like to describe as “Ibiza dj paradise”. London is also a great achievement for a dj when he played with Crash at Renaissance room, hustlaball, Back party and with "Orange" at Fire for AM

“Uk have always been the place to be if you are looking to hear something new but its also the place where you can play your stuff and will feel the impact of the music on the clubbers”. The French deejay goes back to Paris almost monthly, where he is working from the studio with French Faction on some music and with Scream Paris and Walkgroup on some events. Playing a selection of house and chill out  music for world traveler and high standard crowd at Renaissance hotel for U.P. (Urban People) “Its just music as one of the French deejay that inspired me says dj Laurent Garnier! I do love music in general and do like the electronic fusion with instrument and jazz, pop or disco. Renaissance lounge in Paris give me the chance to keep playing and producing more downtempo releases. I am currently working on a chill out album and compilation cd with a French band The White lounge.” .

December 2011 in Istanbul for Pink Amsterdam at club Ghetto for Pera productions, Dj Benjamin will represent with his sound Amsterdam during this massive event. Benjamin is now spreading his contagious sounds all over the world. His inspiration is very large from Funky vocal house & deep soulful house to more disco and electro with always some progressive build up. His sets are best described as uplifting house music. Playing deep grooves to raw and pumping' Electro beats to Tribal and Tech-House influences. Playing late night & energetic sets, some commercial tunes and remixes for the audience to never loose the dance floor feeling.

This very talented Dj became one of amsterdam's biggest gay circuit dj today. Playing and producing music, events and working as an independent journalist for some of the main free and independent magazine in the Benelux (Gay&Night, Proud Magazine). Writing monthly music reviews and party reports under his dj profile. Providing and keeping a very good connection with the gay scene and House-music labels.
